1. We’re Fighting This Battle RIGHT NOW
- We filed a $10 MILLION hazing lawsuit in November 2025
- Our client was waterboarded, forced to do 500 squats, and hospitalized with kidney failure
- We’re in the trenches — and we’re bringing that fight to State of Yap
2. We Know the Defenses — And How to Destroy Them
Common defenses in hazing cases — and our counterarguments:
| Defense Claim | Our Response |
|---|---|
| “He consented to participate” | Consent is not a defense — FSM and U.S. law explicitly reject this argument |
| “It’s just tradition” | Tradition doesn’t justify abuse — waterboarding is torture, not tradition |
| “He could have left at any time” | Fear of retaliation and social ostracism — victims often feel trapped |
| “We didn’t know it was happening” | Institutions are responsible — they have a duty to supervise and protect |
| “It was just a prank” | Rhabdomyolysis and kidney failure are not pranks — this is serious harm |
3. We Have the Resources to Win
- Medical experts to document injuries
- Investigators to gather evidence
- Life care planners to calculate future damages
- Economic experts to assess lost wages and career impact
- Former insurance adjusters to negotiate policy limits
4. We Don’t Back Down from Powerful Institutions
We take on:
- National fraternities with 150+ chapters
- Major universities with billion-dollar endowments
- Insurance companies with teams of lawyers
- Military institutions with legal protections
State of Yap families: We don’t care how powerful they are. We will make them pay.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions for State of Yap Families
❓ Can you help if the hazing happened in Guam or Hawaiʻi and we live in State of Yap?
YES. We serve clients across the Pacific region. Distance is not a barrier. We offer video consultations and travel to State of Yap for meetings, depositions, and trials.
❓ What if my child is afraid to come forward?
We understand the fear. Many hazing victims are afraid of retaliation or social ostracism. We protect our clients’ identities and work to ensure their safety. In our current case, our client is “fearful of doing an interview due to retribution” — we respect that fear and work around it.
❓ How much does it cost to hire you?
$0 upfront. We work on a contingency fee basis — you pay nothing unless we win your case. Our fee is a percentage of the recovery, so State of Yap families have no financial risk.
❓ What if the hazing happened years ago?
It’s still worth calling us. While statutes of limitations apply, some jurisdictions have delayed discovery rules that may extend deadlines. Additionally, pattern evidence from older incidents can strengthen current cases. Never assume it’s too late.
❓ Can we sue if the hazing was off-campus?
YES. Even if hazing occurred off-campus, institutions can be held liable if they knew or should have known about it. In our current case, hazing occurred at a university-owned fraternity house and at a private residence — both are included in the lawsuit.
❓ What if my child participated in the hazing too?
That doesn’t prevent you from suing. Many hazing victims are forced to participate under duress. Consent is not a defense under the law. Additionally, your child may be entitled to compensation for their own injuries.
❓ Do you handle cases for minors (under 18)?
YES. We represent hazing victims of all ages, including minors. Parents or guardians can bring lawsuits on behalf of minors.
❓ What if the hazing didn’t cause physical injuries?
You may still have a case. Hazing can cause psychological trauma (PTSD, anxiety, depression) that is just as valid as physical injuries. We pursue compensation for all types of harm caused by hazing.
❓ Can we sue the national fraternity even if the hazing was at a local chapter?
YES. National organizations are responsible for supervising their chapters. In our current case, Pi Kappa Phi National is named as a defendant because they failed to prevent hazing despite knowing about “a hazing crisis.”
❓ What if the school already suspended the organization?
That doesn’t prevent you from suing. In fact, suspension is an admission of wrongdoing that can strengthen your case. In our current case, Pi Kappa Phi closed the chapter BEFORE the lawsuit was filed — we’re using that as evidence of their knowledge and negligence.

📢 A Message to State of Yap Fraternities, Sororities, and Schools
To the fraternities operating near State of Yap:
To Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, Beta Theta Pi, Phi Delta Theta — and every other national organization with chapters in the Pacific:
We are watching.
The same legal strategies that secured $10+ million verdicts on the mainland apply to your chapters in the Pacific. If you haze students near State of Yap, we will find every liable entity. We will pursue your national organization, your local chapter, your housing corporation, and every individual member.
Our current case is a warning. The Pi Kappa Phi chapter that waterboarded our client? SHUT DOWN. Their national organization is facing $10 million in damages. Your chapter could be next.
To the universities near State of Yap:
University of Guam, University of Hawaiʻi, Chaminade University, Pacific Islands University — and every other institution in the Pacific:
You own the problem.
In our current case, the University of Houston owned the fraternity house where the hazing occurred. They collected rent while students were tortured. You have the same power — and the same liability.
If you own the property where hazing occurs, you are responsible. If you have the power to regulate Greek life, you are responsible. If you knew or should have known about hazing risks, you are responsible.
We will hold you accountable.
To the coaches, ROTC leaders, and club advisors near State of Yap:
You are responsible for the safety of your students. If you turn a blind eye to hazing, you will be held liable. If you facilitate hazing culture, you will face consequences.
The message is clear: Hazing in the Pacific ends now.
