Headquartered in Houston, Texas — Now Serving Wright County, Iowa and Families Across America

⚠️ This is happening in Wright County. This is happening to Wright County students. This could be your child next.

🚨 BREAKING: We Are Fighting This Fight RIGHT NOW — $10 Million Lawsuit Against Pi Kappa Phi and University of Houston

November 21, 2025 — Attorney 911 filed a $10 MILLION lawsuit against Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and the University of Houston on behalf of Leonel Bermudez, a young man who was hospitalized with kidney failure after weeks of extreme hazing — including waterboarding, forced eating until vomiting, 500 squats, and being struck with wooden paddles.

This happened in Houston. But the same hazing happens at universities near Wright County. The same fraternities operate near Wright County. The same negligence exists at Wright County institutions.

And we will fight for Wright County families with the same aggression we’re bringing to this case.

📰 National Media Coverage of Our Case:

💔 What Happened to Leonel Bermudez — And What’s Happening to Wright County Students Right Now

Leonel Bermudez accepted a bid to join Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at the University of Houston in September 2025. He wasn’t even a student at UH yet — he was a “ghost rush,” expected to transfer for Spring 2026.

What followed was weeks of systematic abuse:

  • Waterboarded with a garden hose — simulated drowning, a form of torture
  • Forced to do 500 squats and 100+ pushups until he collapsed
  • Struck with wooden paddles — physical assault with weapons
  • Forced to eat milk, hot dogs, and peppercorns until vomiting — then forced to continue running
  • Forced to lie in vomit-soaked grass after vomiting
  • Another pledge was hog-tied face-down on a table with an object in his mouth for over an hour
  • A pledge lost consciousness and collapsed during a workout — they kept going
  • Forced to drive fraternity members during early morning hours — sleep deprivation
  • Threatened with expulsion if he didn’t comply

On November 3, 2025, Bermudez was punished for missing an event. He was forced to do 100+ pushups, 500+ squats, bear crawls, wheelbarrows, and 100-yard crawls until he couldn’t stand without help. He crawled up the stairs when he got home. The next day, he couldn’t move. The day after that, his mother rushed him to the hospital.

Diagnosis: Severe rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney failure — life-threatening conditions caused by extreme physical exertion.

He spent three nights and four days in the hospital.

This is not “tradition.” This is not “brotherhood.” This is torture. This is assault. This is criminal.

And it’s happening to Wright County students right now.

🏛️ Universities Near Wright County Are Failing Our Students

The University of Houston owned the fraternity house where Leonel Bermudez was waterboarded. They collected rent while students were being tortured. They had the power to inspect, regulate, and shut down the fraternity at any time.

They failed. And so are universities near Wright County.

Wright County families: If your child attends college at institutions like Iowa State University, University of Iowa, or other regional colleges, they face the same risks. The same fraternities operate near Wright County. The same “traditions” exist. The same negligence is happening.

Universities near Wright County have the same power — and the same failure — as University of Houston.

💰 Why Wright County Families Deserve $10 Million — The Same Justice We’re Fighting For in Houston

We are currently litigating a $10 MILLION lawsuit against Pi Kappa Phi and the University of Houston. This isn’t theoretical — we’re in the fight RIGHT NOW.

Wright County families deserve the same justice.

Precedent Cases — Hazing Victims WIN BIG:

Case Fraternity University Outcome Amount
Stone Foltz Pi Kappa Alpha Bowling Green State Settlement $10.1 million
Maxwell Gruver Phi Delta Theta Louisiana State Jury Verdict $6.1 million
Timothy Piazza Beta Theta Pi Penn State Settlement $110+ million
Andrew Coffey Pi Kappa Phi Florida State Settlement Confidential (major)
Adam Oakes Delta Chi Virginia Commonwealth Settlement $4+ million

These cases prove: Hazing victims and their families WIN. The same results are possible for Wright County families.

⚖️ Wright County Families — Know Your Legal Rights

1. This Is Not Your Fault

Fraternities and universities will try to blame the victim. They’ll say:

  • “He agreed to participate”
  • “He knew the risks”
  • “He could have left”

Texas law — and most state laws — say: CONSENT IS NOT A DEFENSE. You cannot consent to being a victim of a crime.

2. You Have Two Years to Act

Most states have a 2-year statute of limitations for personal injury claims. If you wait, you lose your rights.

Wright County families: The clock is ticking.

3. You Can Sue Multiple Defendants

In our case, we’re suing:

  • The local fraternity chapter
  • The national fraternity organization
  • The university
  • Individual members
  • The housing corporation

Wright County families can pursue the same defendants.

4. You Can Recover Compensation For:

  • Medical bills (past and future)
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional trauma (PTSD, anxiety, depression)
  • Lost wages
  • Academic disruption
  • Punitive damages (to punish the wrongdoers)

📋 What Wright County Families Should Do RIGHT NOW

If Your Child Was Hazed:

  1. Get Medical Attention Immediately — Even if injuries seem minor, document everything.
  2. Preserve All Evidence — Texts, photos, videos, social media posts, witness names.
  3. Do NOT Talk to the Fraternity or University Alone — They will try to control the narrative.
  4. Do NOT Post on Social Media — Anything you post can be used against you.
  5. Call Attorney 911 Immediately1-888-ATTY-911

If Your Child Was Hospitalized or Died from Hazing:

  1. Contact Law Enforcement — Hazing is a crime in most states.
  2. Demand the University Preserve Evidence — Security footage, communications, chapter records.
  3. Contact Attorney 911 — We handle wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases.
