At mile marker 236, a chain-reaction collision involving a 2022 Peterbilt tractor-trailer and three other vehicles claimed the life of 19-year-old Alejandro Alfonso Lima. According to initial reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. when Lima’s 2011 Ford Ranger, traveling westbound, reportedly drifted into the opposite lane and struck the eastbound Peterbilt. The situation escalated instantly as a 2020 Ford, also traveling eastbound and attempting to pass the 18-wheeler, collided with the Ranger.
